Mrs Anuradha Dasgupta and Mrs Sachdeva are good friends. Both of them, in their late 40s, just enjoy spending time with each other.

Although not serving in the same entity, both of them enjoy a lot the company of each other during their lunchtime. Name any topic and you would, now and then, find them indulging in the same — completely. They would share everything right from their lunch to some hilarious observational jokes to some generic life experiences.

They have enjoyed each other’s companionship for several years — celebrating several occasions together.

At a noon, Anuradha informs Sachdeva about her organisation’s decision to change the office location to a new building and that tomorrow will be her last day in the building.

On the last day, Anuradha placated that she is not going too far — just a distance of 1.5 km and they would continue to meet each other. Eventually, the day comes — Both of them embraced each other and waved a final goodbye.

Now, as almost a month has passed. Mrs Sachdeva, while relieving herself of her office duties for the day — sets off for her way to home. She stops her car in front of the building where Mrs Anuradha now works. She glares at the building — smiles, wondering if her friend would still be busy working in her new office. Remembering the memorable time they spent together, she hums the track playing in the car.

Quite unaware of the fact that her friend has not only left her old building but this world too, for she had died of corona — 25 days ago, she drives off…
